UPDATES ON SALARY NEGOTIATIONS
A joint Principals’ meeting (ILC and JMC) was held today, in view of collapsed salary negotiations and the media release by Acting Minister of DPSA, Naledi Pandor, as circulated to you yesterday.
Unions have once more expressed their collective pleasure on the employer’s negative attitude throughout the process.
In view of the above, a joint Labour press conference is scheduled for Tuesday, 24 April 2018, at 10H00, to address the nation on these developments.
A letter will also be forwarded to the employer, this afternoon, to instruct him to come back to the negotiation table tomorrow, as his request for postponement of the process to the 03 May 2018 is flatly rejected.
The ILC will on the other hand continue with a move towards declaration of dispute, based on feedback received from respective parties ‘s mandate- seeking mass meetings.

Feedback from mandate- seeking meetings is that Districts are unanimous in support of declaration of dispute.
Labour is jointly organising countrywide pickets next week Thursday, 03 May 2018, in an endeavour to pressurise employer to consider and acceed to our demands. Further details on pickets will be circulated as soon as finalised.
